The list of musical innovations from Korg is long and distinguished. From the first Korg product (a mechanical rhythm machine introduced in 1963) to the genre-defining OASYS keyboard workstation, Korg has developed instruments, recorders, and accessories that are completely "musician-friendly," both in operation and in price. Korg product designs have often been at the leading edge of technology. The M1, introduced in 1988, combined PCM sounds, a drum machine, sequencer, and effects unit into one package to define a new category of instruments – the music workstation.
